Beer Choir: Atomic Chapter

Tommy's Tap House on April 26, 6:30-9pm.

If you haven't yet been to a session of Beer Choir, now is the time! Beer Choir is a chance to meet friends for fun, with no pressure to either drink beer or sing along, but the entertainment is great!

The Atomic Chapter of Beer Choir is sponsored by the Mid-Columbia Mastersingers. They provide the Beer Choir Hymnal and invite you to join in the ancient tradition of people singing while drinking beer. Stay for as little or as long as you'd like. Click here for the full info on Facebook.

April 16-22: Shakespeare and Vivaldi

Word has it that Hanford High's Romeo and Juliet is not to be missed - director Joanna Flaten is a proven artist, and the high school cast is top-notch.

Camerata Musica is presenting their last touring artists of the season, Byron Schenkman and Friends,  performing a program of French and Italian classical music with harpsichord and chamber quintet, on April 21 - this FREE concert is a gift to our community.

Who's got our Performing Arts Center?

Tri-City Herald - January 23, 2013

"One of the biggest needs in the Tri-Cities is a performing arts center, Brooks said. Otherwise, the perception is that the area lacks cultural depth, despite numerous local arts groups. Arts groups are forced to perform at high school theaters and the Toyota Center, which just isn't the atmosphere for such productions."

A View from the Bridge

So everyone needs to drop what they're doing and go see Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge" at Richland Players this weekend. They close on Sunday, and you will be sorry you missed this dramatic, suspenseful and somewhat disturbing play. Kudos to director Joyce Bean for creating a really special theatre event for us. The set is beautiful, and the acting is deep and moving. Go see it!

Also, speaking of viewing things from the "bridge," rehearsals for Titanic the Musical (produced by Mid-Columbia Musical Theatre) are in full swing, and I can tell you that the music is going to knock your socks off, and the set will be phenomenal - also the 3rd class passengers rock. That's all I know so far, more as the situation develops.

Gearing Up

Season auditions have been announced for the Mid-Columbia Mastersingers and Mid-Columbia Symphony (see above), so spread the word to all your musical friends - both organizations have great seasons planned!

Also, you have three more chances to catch White Christmas, starting tonight! And rehearsals have started for Yakima Valley Light Opera's production of The Magic Flute, which involves quite a few Tri-Cities singers. Watch for more on that coming up...
